부모와 자녀의 가사노동 : 자녀의 성별과 연령에 따른 모방학습(modeling)의 차이
[Parents’ and Children’s Housework: Modeling by Children’s Gender and Age]

This study examines the effect of parental housework on their children’s housework. In particular, we explore how the effects of behavior modeling vary with children’s gender and age. Using the 2014 Korean Time Use Survey, this study analyzes the time spent on domestic labor by parents and their children. We find that female children perform more household chores than male children and that girls’ contributions are similar to fathers’ time on domestic tasks. Also we find that the higher the father’s ratio of domestic labor, the more male children perform housework, while it is not the case between mothers and daughters. 이 논문에서는 부모의 가사노동이 자녀의 가사노동에 미치는 영향을 확인함으로써 사회적학습 이론에서 말하는 자녀의 행동 모방학습이 실제로 일어나는지 밝히고자 하였다. 특히, 최근연구되지 않은 10대 청소년의 가사노동 실태와 성별 차이를 탐색하고, 연령의 변화에 따라 행동 모방학습의 효과는 어떻게 다른지를 검증하였다. 본 연구는 2014년 생활시간조사를 사용하여 부모의 가사노동 시간과 자녀의 가사노동 시간을 시간일지 데이터로 분석하였다. 남자 자녀보다 여자 자녀가 더 많은 가사노동을 수행하고 있었으며, 특히 여자 자녀는 아버지와 유사한정도로 꽤 많은 가사노동을 부담하는 것으로 나타났다. 남자 자녀는 아버지의 가사노동비율이높을수록 가사노동을 더 많이 수행한 반면에, 여자 자녀는 어머니의 가사노동비율에 유의미한영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 남자 자녀의 모방학습 효과는 연령에 따라 감소하는 것으로나타났는데, 자녀의 연령이 오름에 따라 부모의 중요성이 상대적으로 줄어들었기 때문이다.
